Windows shortcut key

Windows shortcut key

Windows has a lot of shortcut key. Some is commonly known by a lot of people, but some not. Knowing useful shortcut key can allow us to perform windows operation faster. Below is the lists of various shortcut key :-

  • F1 : open current program help file content.
  • F2 : if currently a file is selected, press F2 to can rename the file name.
  • F3 : open search file or folder dialog box.
  • F10 or ALT : active or put focus on current program menu option.
  • Windows Key or CTRL + ESC : open Windows Start menu.
  • CTRL+ALT+DEL : open Windows security menu.
  • DEL : delete current selected option, or if file is selected, move the file to recycle bin.
  • SHIFT+DEL : delete current selected option, or if file is selected, directly delete the file without moving the file to recycle bin.
  • CTRL+N : create a new document.
  • CTRL+O : open "Open File" dialog box.
  • CTRL+P : open "Print option" dialog box.
  • CTRL+S : save current document.
  • CTRL+X : cut selected item to clipboard.
  • CTRL+INSERT or CTRL+C : copy selected item to clipboard.
  • SHIFT+INSERT or CTRL+V : paste item from clipboard to current position.
  • ALT+BACKSPACE or CTRL+Z : undo previous operation.
  • ALT+SHIFT+BACKSPACE : redo previous undo operation.
